Albina Semyonovna
Kudryashova
Story is provided by the Youth Library of the Komi Republic

On June 21st, our tireless and unwavering activist of the veteran movement celebrated her 90th birthday.

She was born in the village of Ob’yachevo, Priluzsky District, Komi ASSR, on June 21, 1934. Albina’s childhood coincided with the harsh years of the Great Patriotic War. She spent her early years in the village of Palevitsy, Syktyvdinsky District, Komi ASSR.

“The whole village was already gathered here. They played the accordion, a wounded man with a limp played the balalaika, and they sang songs. Some were dancing with joy, others were crying: those who were happy about the Victory, but there was no one to wait for them. … After that, we began to wait for our father…” - A.S. Kudryashova.

My childhood during the war

Albina began her career in 1955 as a geography teacher at Kortkeros School (Komi ASSR). Later, she taught at Syktyvkar School № 13, served as a deputy principal at School of working youth № 4, and held directorships at a trade and culinary school, the Syktyvkar Technological College, and school № 4. Albina Semyonovna dedicated her life to the children, students, and the younger generation.
In 2003, Albina Semyonovna was elected to the commission on moral and patriotic education of the Syktyvkar City Public Organization of Veterans (Pensioners) of War, Labor, Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies. From 2004, she chaired this commission, carrying out extensive work in educational institutions: meetings with veterans, lessons of courage, review-competitions of museums, and the exchange of experience. With her participation was held patriotic action “Relay of Victory Banner”.

Albina Semyonovna is an active participant in the projects of the local veterans’ organization of Syktyvkar: “Obelisk of Memory,” “Glorious memory Syktyvkar” (publication of a book about Syktyvkar), “Heroic Year 1943.” For the 100th anniversary of the Komi Republic, the commission worked on the project “Suburbs of the city of Syktyvkar,” containing information, unique documents, and photographic materials dedicated to the history of their emergence and development.

A.S. Kudryashova makes a significant contribution to the patriotic education of young people, organization and holding joint events with veterans. For her labor and social activities, she has been awarded numerous honors: medals “For Valiant Labor” in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of V.I. Lenin’s birth; “Veteran of Labor”; “For Active Military-Patriotic Work”; the badge of distinction “For Merit to the Komi Republic”; and the certificate of merit of the Komi Republic. She holds the titles of “Honorary Veteran of Syktyvkar,” “Honorary Veteran of the Komi Republic,” and “Honored Worker of the Komi Republic.”
