In March 1944, after the Soviet troops broke the siege of Leningrad, the 5th partisan brigade was disbanded. Already in March 1944 he was drafted into the Soviet Army by Leninsky RVC of Leningrad. From May 1944 to June 1944 Sergeyev Alexey Nikolaevich was a sergeant, commander of a squad of the 314th rifle division of the 1076th rifle regiment. The Leningrad Front during the offensive on the town of Vyborg presented a difficult battle in the rocky and woodland areas, as well as in the town itself when the Nazis were being eliminated in the buildings. For the liberation of the town of Vyborg the 1076th infantry regiment was given the title of Vyborg regiment. Having received a wound, the company commander was replaced by the platoon commander, and Alexey Sergeev was ordered to take command of the platoon as the first squad commander. All the tasks assigned to the platoon were accomplished.
On 28 June 1944 in the battles for the liberation of Vyborg Alexey was wounded. From 28 June to September 1944 he was hospitalised in the 264th hospital in Leningrad. There he received the news of death of his brother Pavel.
After recovery he was sent to the 497th Rifle Regiment, 135th Rifle Division with the rank of sergeant, squad commander. This was the 1st Ukrainian front. There Alexey Nikolaevich took part in the Vistula-Oder operation. There were fights for liberation of Kotowice, Maslowica in Poland, liberation of other cities in Poland and Germany. Especially heavy were the battles for the Oder. After this battle he was sent to the courses of junior officers of the 1st Ukrainian Front.
He met Victory, having not reached Berlin 40 kilometres at the front courses of junior officers of the 1st Ukrainian Front. He regretted it for a long time, only 40 kilometres before reaching Berlin!
Then were studies in the Second Tashkent Machine Gun School (August-December 1945, Termez, Turkestan Military District), Ashgabat Infantry School (December 1945 - July 1946, Tashkent, Turkestan Military District), and again - in the Tashkent Infantry School named after Lenin (August 1946 - September 1948, Tashkent, Turkestan Military District). V.I. Lenin (August 1946 - September 1948, Tashkent, Turkestan Military District). He wanted to go to Germany, he wanted to see the Reichstag. But he didn't have a chance. At this time, the former commander of the 1st Ukrainian Front General of the Army Ivan Petrov was appointed to the post of commander of the Turkestan Military District. Knowing well that among the graduates of the school are many of those with whom he beat the Nazis in the war years, Ivan Efimovich managed to convince the green platoon: ‘You will leave, I will stay here with whom?’. These words had a stronger effect than the order. So Alexei Sergeyev stayed in the service in Kushka. Then a proverb appeared among military men: they won't give you less than a platoon, they won't send you further than Kushka.
